•  What is your cancellation policy?

    We require payment upfront to book the studio and the remaining payment due before or on the day of the rental.  Rescheduling is permitted up to 48 hours before your rental. If you cancel more than 48 hours before the start of the booking you will receive a full refund. If you cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours before the start of the booking you will receive a 50% refund.  We do not issue refunds for cancellations or rescheduling within 24 hours of the booking.  Bookings start at the time of the reservation.  If you arrive late and need to extend your booking past the scheduled end time, that will count as overtime.

  • Refunding.

    When receiving a refund, it may take 5-10 days to arrive via Stripe.

  • Can I Bring outside equipment?

    At Grayscale Studios we make it easy.  Bring whatever equipment you would like into the studio.. even rented equipment from other studios and rental houses.  We do not charge for any outside equipment brought to Grayscale Studios.

  • Can I shoot anywhere else in the building?

    Some rooms are off-limits for shooting. Your rental only includes the use of our studio space. Shooting anywhere else in the building is prohibited.

  • Can I book for less than 2 hours?

    There is a 2-hour minimum on all bookings.  You do not have to use up all 2 hours, but that is our minimum to make a reservation.

  • Do you allow pets?

    There’s a $25 pet fee. The pet must be on a leash at all times or crated if you have one. The pet must not show signs of aggression. If the studio owners/managers feel unsafe, it is up to their discretion to tell the client that they must leave with their pet. The owner will not be refunded their money. The owner is solely responsible for any damages caused by the pet such as but not limited to; biting, ripping, breaking, or scratching any of our items/props/ studio space. If the pet uses the bathroom (pee/poop/vomit) in the studio, there is an additional $25 clean-up fee.

  • Can I have a freshly painted Cyclorama in Studio A?

    The cyclorama comes as is. We sweep and mop daily, but It may have scuff marks from previous rentals. We repaint the cyclorama 1-2 times a week as needed to maintain condition, but if you would like to have a freshly repainted cyclorama, we are happy to do so for $75.

    **Paint takes 2-3 hours to dry, Repaints are only possible for full-day rentals, or for the first rental of the day.

  • Do you allow alcohol or smoking?

    ** NO SMOKING, NO ALCOHOL. Penalty for failing to comply may include a fee and/or the renter may be banned from Grayscale Studios.

  • Is there a private bathroom?

    Studio A has a private bathroom. Studio B has access to shared bathrooms located on our floor.

  • Are the studios soundproof?

    Although we host plenty of sound-recorded productions, our studio does not possess the attribute of soundproofing, which means that the auditory ambiance within our premises may be subject to the audibility of neighboring activities.

  • Do you have an elevator?

    We have a freight elevator

    Operational Guidelines:

    • Our freight elevator is operated exclusively by Grayscale Studio staff and is ONLY for loading in and loading out.

    • During the interim period between loading in and out, we kindly request all guests to utilize the stairways.

    • Elevators are strictly to be operated by Grayscale Studio Staff ONLY.

    Special Arrangements for Mini Sessions:

    • If you are hosting mini-sessions and anticipate frequent movement of clients in and out of the studio during your rental time, please note that clients will generally be required to use the stairs.

    • However, for your convenience, we offer an option to avail elevator access for an additional flat fee of $50. This service includes a dedicated studio manager who will personally escort your clients, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience.

    Accessibility Accommodations:

    • If there are any specific accessibility needs, please inform us in advance and we will ensure suitable accommodations are made.

  • Is there a loading zone?

    While we do offer a designated loading zone, it is important to note that you will need to relocate your vehicle and secure parking in the designated side streets as outlined in the information we have provided. It is crucial to exercise efficiency during the loading process, as the vicinity experiences a substantial influx of traffic due to the concurrent loading and unloading activities of neighboring businesses.

  • Can I move the furniture around in Studio A and/or Studio B

    The flexibility to rearrange furniture and decor within the studio spaces is indeed permitted; however, all items must be restored to their original positions as they were upon initial entry. Furthermore, to mitigate the risk of damaging the flooring, we kindly request that any relocation of substantial or weighty objects be undertaken in collaboration with our knowledgeable studio manager. Should any damages arise as a result of such activities, regrettably, there may be additional charges incurred, as it necessitates the restoration of the affected areas.

     

    NOTE: We would like to emphasize that our studio personnel are available to assist upon your arrival, ensuring a seamless transition to the studio space, particularly if you opt to utilize the freight elevator. Additionally, they are ready to assist with furniture relocation and aid in setting up your backdrop, if required. It is important to note, however, that their responsibilities do not extend to restoring the studio space to its previous arrangement or providing support for matters unrelated to the studio itself.

    To ensure a smooth and uninterrupted experience during your booking, we highly recommend notifying us in advance of your intention to purchase a pull of seamless paper. By doing so, we can eliminate the need for our managers to interrupt your scheduled session for setup purposes. This proactive approach allows us to optimize both your time and ours, facilitating a seamless workflow throughout your entire booking duration.
